Brad Bell was hired today as the Executive Associate Athletics Director of Advancement and Executive Director of the Hokie Club. He spent the last five years at the University of Georgia and I remember from our multiple visits to Athens that Georgia recently started charging admission for softball (what a novel idea!), Further research discovered that season tickets for Georgia softball cost $50 each plus a $50 per-seat Georgia Softball Fund (GSF) contribution. Single-game tickets for select games are also available, with general admission prices starting as low as $5. Reserved parking requires a $300 annual gift to the Softball Fund. I posted the Georgia Softball Fund brochure below. Georgia kicked off their 2026 Softball Fundraising Campaign in December, 2025 with this comment: "Your support through the Georgia Softball Fund provides meaningful impact across all aspects of the student-athlete experience, including nutrition, academic support, travel assistance, professional development, equipment upgrades, and scholarship support. Your generosity helps Georgia Softball compete at the highest levels within the SEC and nationally while providing meaningful support for the program's continued growth and success." Perhaps times are a changing.
