I believe we were pretty beat up here at the end of the year. Noticed both
Jordan and Anni with wraps on their throwing hand since the ACC Tourney. We know about Bree. I think an explanation for Zoe behind the plate is that she has been hurt for about half the season. Mighty Mite hit the freshman wall headlong. I don’t believe Sophie ever fully recovered from her surgery. I’m sure there were others also and most teams are a little beat up at the end of the year.
I do believe that one of the reasons Pete doesn’t do a lot of lineup shuffling is our SOS does not allow for many losses. Without getting other players in and giving every day players a chance to rest creates a lot of wear and tear injuries

Kind of like Gaby in RF though cause with her speed she can really run some hits down.

the strongest players as starters. Behind them were either freshmen or some players who were not going to play every day. it wasn't the same as before when he had 3+ options for designated player in the season. So, yes, the need to win and the SOS dictated strong lineups, but I think there was likely a drop off after the starters? I think there was a gap between the top 9 players in the batting lineup and everyone else, but who knows what he saw in practice.
Then subbing or not subbing comes down to choice. How good is Gagliardi for example? Could Charlotte Moore be productive? Blackwell played alot last year, but then this year was primarily a defensive replacement.

effort, it’s no wonder some, maybe all the regular starters, have some sort of injury and/or beat up.
