We've forced the LSU P to throw 12 pitches the last two innings but . .
. . . I guess we're swinging hard so . . . . . .

"Swinging hard" and let's "see what happens" is not a hitting strategy. If
you noticed the LSU hitters swing according to the situation. They shorten up and put the ball in play, they punch the ball through the infield. When all you do is swing hard every time, you get a lot of pop ups and fly outs and that is exactly what we are seeing. Also down 5 runs late you should be much more selective at the plate and maybe draw a walk or two.

Exactly. Coach is definitely hard headed about this.
The long ball is fun, but sometimes "small ball" is a smart way to play, especially if players are in a slump.

But won't that hurt their exit velo? ;)

I guess, lol. Useless stat in my opinion.
