From Longwood's website: Longwood Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Tim Hall has announced that Dr. Megan Brown will not return as the team's head coach for the 2027 season. "We want to thank Coach Brown for her dedication and service to Longwood and all of the time and energy she devoted to the softball program during her tenure," Hall said. "We wish her all the best going forward. The process to identify the next leader of the Longwood softball program will begin immediately." Brown spent the past six seasons at the helm of the program, and she was the fifth coach in the team's history. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From D1 Softball: "Brown spent the last six seasons as the Lancers’ program leader. During her tenure, the Lancers shared the Big South regular-season title twice, most recently in 2023. "During the 2026 season, the Lancers posted a 21-32 overall record and a 7-10 conference showing.
