how much home field matters in softball. I wonder how many host teams have won the ACC tournament who weren't a 1 or 2 seed going in. Or host teams who have overperformed their seed (might be better to look at). There are always a huge contingent of Hokie fans in Charlottesville (for most sports). So, that is probably the best place for us to play outside of our own home as far as fan support.

SEC Will be playing at Madison AL Trash Pandas minor league baseball park. Pretty new park (3 yrs old) easy access off 4 lane interstate. They did HS Softball tournament last year which was very nice.
Lots of hotels and resturants in Madison/Huntsville Space Command area.

Barons (AA) stadium since 1998. Birmingham is a decent size city and big melting pot for SEC fans. And it was a central location for the SEC (before adding Tex and Ok teams).

The Moyer Complex is great for travel ball and regular college tournaments but not really a 'stadium' atmosphere. Salem has the know-how to pull this off.

Bring in extra bleachers and they could pull it off.

It really comes down to whether a true stadium atmosphere is something the teams and fans want. The Moyer Complex could certainly be outfitted with OF bleachers but it’s really still a travel ball feel on steroids.
