You know everything at Liberty is for sale so why not . . .
. . . have the ACC 'rent' the softball facility for the tournament. Central location and great for fans.

. . . . league members with no regard for the quality of the facility or the accessibility of interested fans.

The ACC surely isn’t going to contract with Liberty for anything. And I would expect VT and U Va would oppose it anyway.

Notre Dame and virtually every other facility in the league that pretty much sucks compared to a really nice one in the dead center of the conference and almost certainly closer to MORE Tech fans than Blacksburg. Would you be opposed if the same facility existed in Lynchburg NOT associated with Liberty?

is going to rent a facility on the campus of a member school of another conference? Can you ever recall it being done? If so, when?

Before VT was ACC member if I’m not mistaken. Tell me I’m wrong.

so that is one time, although I believe an indoor track facility is different than a basketball arena, softball stadium, etc.. I will have to look further. I still believe proposing Liberty to host the ACC softball tourney is a bad idea.

. . . not a serious recruiting threat to ACC schools . . . they recruit in a much different way. I agree, it's an unlikely thing to happen as college athletic administrators rarely think about what's best for the fans or think out of the box.

rinky dink conference like hosting your conference tournament at the home facility of a member of another conference. Part of bidness is branding and you would never find the SEC, B1G, Big 12, etc. entertaining such a hair brained idea, at least IMO.

at Liberty ain't never gonna happen. Is the only reason you're pushing Liberty because your live in Midlothian and it's more convenient for yo?

. . . place I pay a property tax bill and hangout). That said, Lynchburg is likely closer than Blacksburg for the large majority VT players relatives. I push it because the teams and fans involved deserve a first-class venue to play in and I like neutral site. The stadium in Lynchburg would provide both.

"I push it because the teams and fans involved deserve a first-class venue to play in and I like neutral site." You should be giving marketing advice to the Hokie Club (that isn't meant to be snarky). But as many on this string have said, no way the ACC or VT is going to use Liberty and give them free pub and branding.

. . . mask all LU references that might appear on TV. Would be referred to as Kamphius Field, Lynchburg, VA in all media. The baseball tournament is not hosted on campus. Let's upgrade softball.

knows where you are regardless of the signs.
Baseball tournament is currently played either in Charlotte or Durham, both minor league ball parks. Got any nearby minor league softball parks? I could see them having baseball in a major league or other minor league stadiums in the ACC footprint though.

The ACC tournament is rotated among the schools and that’s the way they want it.

chance as the others. The conference pays for the travel.
If you’ve got issues go to Charlotte and complain to the pea brains there.

. . . to do the west coast trip prior to regionals. As for 'the league' paying for it, VT and everyone else is part of 'the league'. It's resources that could be used for better things than jet fuel and jet lag.
