FYI, the VT scoreboard now has a space on the lower left that reports
the pitch speed. That first State pitcher was throwing a lot in the upper sixties. Bree was pretty much in the lower to mid sixties, but the ball is generally always around the plate with a lot of movement.

Fifteen years ago the fastest female pitcher in the world was Yukiko Ueno.
She was clocked at 72 mph using the technology that existed at the time. I can assure you no one that pitched in the game today throws as fast Ueno did. Don't get too excited about velocity numbers anyway. Who has been the most effective pitcher the weekend?

Bree may have edged out Emma and that's saying something

I think it reads a little high. The gun at English today had Renfrow
hitting 97 today. Think it reads a little high too.

I believe it depends on where it’s aimed and how far away
it is.

I believe that the Trackman system they've put in is stationed (cont)
in the left media box (facing out towards Beamer Way). All writers have been covering from the outside area between the left and middle media boxes so far this series.

It seems the Trackman system consistently reports higher speeds . .
. . . than most, if not all, hand-held guns. Bottom line is not to focus on absolute number. The only thing you can do with some certainty is compare pitcher A with pitcher B in the same game.
