Getting woke up every two hours for vital signs and/ or blood being drawn is not my idea of a good time. And then at 5:00 this morning, my incision apparently erupted and got blood everywhere. As frustrating as it was not to get to go home last night, at the moment, I am very happy to be here.

For a 2 week stay, foot infection with partial amputation because of sepsis. Changing antibiotic IV every 8 hours for 2 months at home was not fun for me or my family either.
The nurses who wake you up and ask you if you need something to help me sleep are ones in the "special" category.

. . . as it is stay as long as they will keep you. You get better drugs in the hospital than they will send you home with! I felt great when I left the hospital. 24 hours later at home not so much. Hang in there!

- Appendectomy
- Two kidney stone surgeries
- Foot 4th and 5th metatarsal amputation, 2 separate surgeries

Meds (Tylenol 3, contains codeine) were great until I had to decide between pain and hallucinations. I spoke of it as yellow unicorns and blue alligators.
I can truthfully say every nerve fiber passes through the abdomen.
