First off, I delivered another batch of checks to Bill Old today - a little over $5,500. Our running total of donations that have been made for softball this year is now over $17,600. With our generous donor doubling it, that means we are at $35,200 and counting. A sample of our pledges are $102 per win, $35 per HR, $6 per total bases, $1 per run, $15 per double play, and $5 per bunt. There are some others like away wins, ACC wins, etc., but hopefully, you get the idea. Some of the folks that have pledged have paid in advance and some are paying as the season goes on, but the money is coming in! The original commitment from our generous donor was that he would match donations up to $20,000. HOWEVER....based on the team's hot start and the fact that many of you are jumping in so quickly, he has agreed to move his match up to $40,000!!!! So again, EVERY dollar that is donated - up to $40,000 - will be matched. AND EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS!!!!!! If you haven't yet donated, please consider doing so.
