Recruiting Rankings

There is probably nothing more subjective than recruiting rankings, which can be heavily influenced by the schools who sign players. Both Softball American and D1 Softball recently published their team ranking on the Recruiting Class of 2026. To no one's surprise, the SEC dominated the Top 10 for both publications, with Softball America listing SEC schools in 9 of their Top 11 (FSU at # 7, Oregon at #10) and D1 Softball having 9 of the Top 10 spots occupied by SEC schools (Oregon at #10). The consensus Top 4 schools were Oklahoma, Florida, LSU, and Texas with Tennessee and Georgia alternating at spots 5 and 6. The Hokies' Class was ranked #17 by Softball America and #19 by D1 Softball. Softball America showed the Hokies with four 4-star recruits and two 3-start recruits. The rankings of the Top 12 schools in the ACC are below. The classes from Pittsburgh, Boston College, and Syracuse did not make the Top 50 in neither poll. As I mentioned, recruiting rankings are extremely subjective. Coach D'Amour and his staff have shown an excellent ability to identify and develop talent - I simply share this as a conversation piece. NOTE: The first Notre Dame entry should actually be Duke. Apologies. ** Edited by VTChip at 11/18/2025, 11:25:23 PM
