this more than others. As some will recall, I umpire fast pitch softball and I have been selected as an umpire for one of the Virginia (VHSL) State Finals (Class 5). Quite an honor that I'm both proud and, frankly, embarrassed (imposter syndrome) to receive. Which makes me think, if any of you guys have ever watched softball games in NoVA in the last 3 years, it's not unlikely you've seen me work and maybe even complained about a call or two. ;-) I've now hit 500 games umpired in the last 18 months or so, a blistering pace.
