Jordan Lynch had one of the best weekends in the country for a freshman

Jordan went 8 for 14 over the weekend with four doubles, most of them rockets to the gap. She scored six runs and batted in four, making herself right at home in the Hokie lineup. She also drew two walks. SB Nation put together this chart of the best freshmen performances from week one. Northwestern's Kaylie Avvisato, a, high school teammate of Charlotte Moore at Riverside High, had 9 hits in 16 plate appearances.

I think Shumaker is going to be an absolute menace to the SEC.**

Notice that she was the only ACC player

Cool story I have to share about Jordan
philvt93 02/11/25 09:35 PM ET
But it was a promise that Tech offered?
dallasvt 02/12/25 12:34 AM ET
I imagine we discussed the roster

Part of getting the best is knowing ur product

If Duke ruled it out, I would have to think it was due to other promises/
dallasvt 02/12/25 04:42 AM ET
Imagine how many more she could have had if we didn't run rule everyone**

Have some thoughts on that.

Very interesting proposed "Run Rules" ideas here and below***
A3genhokie 02/12/25 12:18 PM ET
My thoughts are 2 innings are too much. All games through 6 innings then
UTPr0sim 02/12/25 09:23 AM ET
Not sure I understand you. Or maybe you don't understand my idea?
laphroaig 02/12/25 10:50 AM ET
I think I understand yours. Mine is pretty simple. Change the run rule
UTPr0sim 02/12/25 11:37 AM ET
I like watching more softball and giving more players a chance to play.
laphroaig 02/12/25 11:42 AM ET
I like this for early season tournaments. A couple of caveats:
MidloHokie 02/12/25 09:20 AM ET
Those caveats make sense. The idea is more softball for players and us.**
laphroaig 02/12/25 10:51 AM ET
Right. The costs are baked in (facilities, ump, etc). Why not optimize . .
MidloHokie 02/12/25 12:37 PM ET
Wouldn't work on those times one team has another game
ColWilliamFleming 02/12/25 09:00 AM ET
The Colonel covered that. Makes sense.**
