We just finished another year of fundraising for the softball team (actually, we have a couple of checks to deliver July 1, but that’s a technicality). You folks continue to be amazing. The majority of the dollars raised came from TSL posters although we also were blessed to have many parents and friends contribute as well. I continue to be blown away at your generosity. There’s not enough space on this message board to mention everyone, but just know that all of you are special and you make a difference in the VT softball program. A huge thanks to @willstewart for his support as well. Our fundraising had two main prongs this year – our season-long softball challenge and our softball auction. The focus of the season-long challenge was simple - pick a stat(s) and make a contribution based on that stat. We added an option this year of making contributions to NIL via The Hokie Way so donors had the choice of contributing to either operations expenses for the softball program via the Hokie Club or NIL via the Hokie Way. We ended up with over $41,000 for the Hokie Club and over $19,000 for NIL designated for softball. And finally, we had our fourth annual softball auction. Thanks to those of you that donated items and to those who bid, and a special thanks for those of you that rounded up your winning bids. We raised an additional $22,000 with the auction. So if we add those numbers together ($41,000 + $19,000 + $22,000), you folks added over $82,000 to the softball program this year. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. When I shared those numbers with Coach D’Amour last night, he was blown away and he asked me to share this message with all of you: “On behalf of our program, I’d like to thank our Hokie faithful softball family for their generosity once again. ‘very dollar counts’ has been a mantra of ours for years, and with the changing landscape of college athletics, it’s even more true now. We are extremely thankful for all of you." Thanks, friends.
