batters box in a game like last night's. True, there were 8 hits, but there were so many lazy pop-ups to the infield and shallow outfield. Seems hitters just couldn't square up and consistently get the center of the bat on the center of the ball. The GC pitcher was not that good but was extremely effective. She only threw 59% of her pitches for strikes, induced 5 strikeouts, 7 infield fly ball outs, 11 total fly balls, multiple swings at balls not close to being strikes, while consistently only throwing in the upper 50s, and low 60s. I thought plate umpire was a little inconsistent, but VT batters were so impatient at the plate. Coach Pete could have a LOADED team next year with lots of pitching, but they gotta learn to hit all kinds of pitching. Last, no slight to GC pitcher or coach, but I thought she was a little immobile, but VT didn't force her to make any plays in the field. She pitched her game and it worked to perfection. Hope everyone stays and kicks a$$ next year. We will certainly miss seniors ***an, Green, Ritter, Louko, etc. I'm sad for them, but excited to get to work. Go Hokies!
