If VT wants to move beyond where it is now it will have to have a . . .

. . . competitive NIL program. The Texas model of recruitment and retention is ideal. I'm not a Mike White fan but he has recruited and retained two national championship teams. How much NIL $$ is involved? I'd bet between $1.5 and $2.0 million for the roster with at least $500K in the circle. Kavan's social following on the Texas NIL marketplace shows 42K+ followers. That can be and likely is monetized. How many followers do any Hokie players have? Softball athletes have four years (maybe five soon) to earn real income from the sport. There's no reason from them not to do that while earning the degree that they will depend for the remainder of their lives.
