And Coach Pete has built a consistently strong program that not only comptes at a high level but stays classy and humble. The players he's recruited make it easy to pull for them. Sure, I'll watch the football team this year and next but I don't get excited about it any longer since the mercenary aspect infected the program. There's something about watching players develop and learning about them over a 3 to 4 year period that builds a personal investment and draws me closer to the program. Our softball program fills that void for me now. I'm just not into rooting for teams with a high player turnover rate. As far as I'm concerned the football jerseys shouldn't bother to have names on the back but the softball jerseys should!
