Where I bashed a player? I praised Molly for the job she did. I’m pondering WHY Pete wouldn’t take her out with a huge pat on the back after 3 shutout innings to keep her confidence up? I was questioning, based on her past outings when she’s had. 2-3 solid innings then gets roughed up a bit 2nd full time thru order. Now I get that it’s unfair for me and I was wrong to question Pete without knowing all of the sickness going on and the severity. My point simply was in this situation, it would’ve seemed a good time to take her out with that confidence built up in Molly instead of her having to be out there to see them walk off with a run rule. Guess I need to choose words even more wisely…yes and weigh the situation. I’ve taken the criticism here and tried to be much more general and not personal wi/ player criticisms. Guess I’m more old school. When coaches got on me for not performing my best it was motivating. Didn’t hurt my feelings, drove me. If something I’m saying on a message board really hurts a players feelings to the point it hurts their performance or whatever…well then that player still IMO needs look inside and ask themselves are they really mentally tough enough to be their best and deal with critics as well as the praise ? I love this team and their personality, their representation of VT. I’m hoping for the best for them especially the Seniors Brown, Bailey (one of my all time favorites for her toughness) and Bennett…they deserve to go out on a high note ** Edited by hokiepro at 5/13/2023, 11:50:09 AM
