A Canady-type would pitch and win 2/3s of your games and

get you to super regionals. With an elite pitcher, your offense doesn't have to score 1000 runs in a game. I agree with the premise that you would want a full scholarship team. but you would also want quality hitters and a quality pitching staff. If you don't have an elite pitcher, then you also need the funds to have a second or third pitcher if your "ace" isn't elite right? So, if you had the funs to make sure that 1-9 batters (plus depth) and at least 2 pitchers are VERY GOOD, then great. When we talk about needing better pitching, other teams seem to have quality starters that are capable of having nice seasons. There are top 25 teams that don't have a Canady. We area top 25 team, but our pitching staff is vulnerable. Duke, FSU, and others are going to have good seasons without an elite pitcher.
