You see this on certain sports. Where journalists are more

Fans than journalists to an extent. For example, many journalists covering women’s soccer rarely ever criticize the play of players. They are “on the side of players” and often friends. They kind of have to be to support the growth of the sport and their jobs. but then you may not get the critique or full analysis
