Coach can ask not to publicize but VT is a public state university and they

typically publish coaches salaries, along with their name and sport. You can even find out salaries of each professor and AD Whit. You see it on statements at state universities all over the country, including VT. Most state universities show every year that football and men's basketball are the only two sports that make money, but the rest of the other sports usually lose money every year, including softball/baseball. So the big revenue king (football) covers paying for a lot of the expenses of all the other sports every year.
