I'm not sure. Maybe Tech got away with one? I just meant I think coach knew
he was doing (either by the book or getting away with one maybe :)). Here is what copilot said after I fed in the PBP from Tech's live stats:
**Why Abromavage’s substitutions were legal**
NCAA softball lets every *starter* leave the game and re‑enter **one time**, as long as they return to the same spot in the batting order.
Here’s what happened with Nora Abromavage:
1. She **started** the game in LF (eligible for one re‑entry).
2. She was **subbed out** for Blackwell (still has her re‑entry available).
3. She **re‑entered** for Blackwell (this uses her one allowed re‑entry).
4. She was **subbed out again** for McNelly (this removes her permanently on defense).
5. In the 7th inning, she came back **only as a pinch hitter**, which is legal.
NCAA rules treat offense and defense separately.
A player who has used her one defensive re‑entry **cannot return to the field**,
but she *can still pinch hit* later in the game.
Since Abromavage only batted in the 7th and did **not** return to LF on defense,
the sequence was completely legal.

Any explanation as to why Nora was able to re-enter twice today ?**

I'm guessing he manipulated the DP position so she only re-entered once.
