VT spends more for softball relative/compared to the top of their sport

than they do for baseball here (comparatively). In other words, we are much closer to the top of softball financially than we are for baseball spending. And we are at the top (for the most part) of our league in softball and that is simply not the case in baseball. Baseball, in general, has a much larger operation to pay for and yes, the salaries are higher for baseball as well. Just different in a lot of ways. Smaller rosters for baseball moving forward will help with that expense some.
