It seems like a coach could help the hitters with that advice. It appears
they were surprised and taking change-ups. Why not let the fastballs go or foul them off and prepare for change-ups? The pitcher could adjust of course but at least it gets her out of the position of control. Like you said, must be harder than it looks.
