Ya know, if they would present the facts with realistic computations

and related data that support why it’s not feasible to charge admission, that would most likely satisfy a lot of folks. Throwing up barriers like they have to build a gate, additional permanent fencing, etc. at a cost of $100k just makes things worse. The athletic department probably pisses away $100k trying to avoid the issue. Surely the temporary fencing they set up for the regionals didn’t cost anywhere near $100k, and they’ve probably got a bunch of them in storage.
