Can I get 3? First one is, extend the game to 9 innings.

Then, eliminate the run rule unless both coaches mutually agree to end the game. This translates into more playing time for more players, and should develop pitching depth over time also. It could also produce some epic memorable games. Top 25 teams can definitely score 8+ runs over 2 innings. Finally, get rid of the obstruction and forced slide rules. The game got along just fine before these rules came into being. If you’re a catcher and don’t want to get trucked by a runner heading home…..don’t block the plate. Duh. I might also like to expand the rosters to include 3 or 4 dedicated pitchers who are not allowed to hit, field, or be DP under any circumstances. But I’m probably getting greedy now.

Run rule to 10 runs. Offenses are good enough to make up 8 runs in 2 inn.

Been involved in the game 30 years. Don't like any of these. That . . .
MidloHokie 05/27/26 02:46 PM ET
Only translates to more playing time IF coaches play more players
VAHokie89 05/27/26 10:44 AM ET
Don't extend to 9 innings.
Atlee Hokie 05/27/26 07:33 AM ET
What's more important is that in a 7 inning format each AB is more . . . .
MidloHokie 05/27/26 04:09 PM ET
If I were running college baseball those games would be 7 innings.
MidloHokie 05/27/26 04:13 PM ET
Extend games to 9 innings and they still finish before the guys.**
laphroaig 05/27/26 11:32 AM ET
Play the extra innings after a run rule. Game over, win/loss in the books,

It'd be interesting if they had the ACC Tournament in a neutral location
RoanokeHokie1872 05/26/26 04:13 PM ET
There doesn't need to be a tourney in Boston, or ...
Atlee Hokie 05/27/26 11:54 AM ET
I would be interested in an in-season ACC "tournament" to get
VAHokie89 05/27/26 10:45 AM ET
Discussed previously here. Play in Clearwater the . . .
MidloHokie 05/27/26 03:00 PM ET
This would be interesting.**

I could envision teams that were not scheduled during the regular season
VAHokie89 05/27/26 11:57 AM ET
Want a bizarre one? Change field size to Pony League®️ dimensions.
TomTurkey 05/26/26 04:08 PM ET
It would be interesting to extend the dimensions some.

Given the explosion of offense, make the run rule more than 8 or at least
VAHokie89 05/26/26 02:01 PM ET
Either change the definition of the strike zone, or call it per the rules.**
jokeenan 05/26/26 01:13 PM ET
can we also throw in enforcing the pitching rules like outside the lane
HokieAllMyLife 05/26/26 04:17 PM ET
Called per the rules either by human or machine would be great.**
MidloHokie 05/26/26 01:41 PM ET
Automated ball and strike system, like MLB
Chesapeake_Hokie 05/26/26 12:47 PM ET
Doubt the money is there for that in softball. It will happen in baseball
