Our coaches know talent when they see it. That's why we have Mazz and we have Sophie and the other pitchers we have. We could easily have another pitcher as good as Lemley, or even better once it is all said and done. Pitching is very important in fastpitch softball, for that matter, slow pitch softball, you have to have a good pitcher that can pitch to spots, etc. There were bumps in Emma L's game, the illegal pitches, which became legal the last two seasons. We sweep FSU at FSU if the umpires didn't call illegal pitches. Our young pitchers will learn on the run, just like Emma did. Our hitting alone, will help our young pitchers come into their own. We will score a lot of runs behind any of our pitchers, plus our defense will be solid as usual. I truly think that our team has the ability to be very good. Our power throughout the lineup is unmatched by any team in college softball. Even the announcers say that our lineup, top to bottom has power and great hitters throughout the lineup. Avery is throwing as high as 71 as a freshman, and can move it up and down and has a change of speed pitch, which is dangerous to opposing hitters. After 10 games, the first two tournaments we should have a good idea of what our team is capable of. After the next three we can see how we fare against SEC teams. I think we will do just fine, because I know our coaches are top notch and will put us in a position to win. I am confident our pitching will be above average, and in certain cases be elite.
