Granted, my daughter was getting recruited by a few-mid majors and lower end D1 schools but what we heard consistently from them was that they wanted girls that could change a game with one swing. They weren't looking for small ball because the quality of pitching at the elite levels was so great that the chances of playing small ball or having a big inning with 3-4 singles was very low.
