They are told to look for a pitch and hit it hard. Executing that isn't as easy as that. Their eyes can trick them just like any other batter. The "swing at first pitch" approach can also lead to quick outs....yes, it can lead to HRs but...softball is a game of failure. Swinging outside, high, etc makes it more likely to fail. A .300 hitter will fail more.
We have not had more than 2-3 batters make an impact in the last two and half games.
