Thanks Chip. I thought they don’t do rematches or conf teams in 1st round

Meaning, we will not be paired against an ACC team or against Georgia in the 1st round, as we played (and beat) them already. I want no part of that Oregon / Grand Canyon deal. GC punched us out 2 years ago (also broke Rachel’s wrist earlier that year), and I’m not sure I really want to go up against Lyndsey Grein either. I would rather be an 8 seed or a 24 seed, nothing in between. That’s totally based on the team you play in Supers if you escape regionals. Because if you are #16, yes you get to host, but then get shipped off to #1 if you win. If you are seed #24 you start vs. #9 and if you win you only have to beat #8 to get to the WCWS. Obviously we are not going to be an 8. Now I know this team is not going to intentionally lose a few games at Syracuse to try to “play down” into an actually more favorable seed like 24 but in some ways, I really do hope the committee “under-seeds” us. A 17 seed would be the absolute worst outcome. No extra home games, and off to #1 if you win. I’d be ok with them giving us a 16, just to be able to see more games at TSP (even though we would be off to OK/TX if we won), but it doesn’t seem likely. I know you know this stuff but just highlighting the harsh realities that teams in the 9-23 seeding face. It’s not the best place to be. Whatever happens, ready to cheer this team on!

17 would be awful. Would rather be 20.**

17 is in the same "bucket" as 20 ....

Georgia can’t get swept again this weekend and host
hokiepro 04/29/26 01:33 PM ET
Only SEC teams that is! It is so one sided. ACC vs SEC, and all other Conf.**

Both bracketologies are computed as of today

With seeding the top 32, the rematch issue has gotten pushed aside a bit.

We played at Bama last year in regular season and went there in regionals

That won't happen, same conference.**

Could happen in the Super Regionals, though.**

My comment is towards the prediction that UGA hosts and VT travels to UGA
bushartbs525 04/29/26 04:23 PM ET
Isn’t KY something like 3-18 in their conference?**
GCHokieof91 04/29/26 02:10 PM ET
Actually, they are 1-23 in the conference...

SC is 25 not Auburn; Auburn is 34 I think

Auburn is actually 32 on today's RPI chart
