Our softball program is successful beyond what it was before our new coach. It is consistent. We had a relatively successful program before our present coach, but nothing like we have now. We are a Top Twenty program in winning now, and often reach a higher ranking, as this season is an example. However, and remember that I am a loyal supporter of this program, there is a limit to how far this program can reach without major financial support, and that support is not there from the athletic program. And it does not seem like there will be the needed support from the athletic program any time soon, if at all, which is what it seems like at this time. We all know that fact is true. We may not be able to reach the financial support that the Texas teams have with big oil and cattle money, but we should try to reach as high as possible, and the athletic department is not going to help that situation. There is an opportunity for our softball program to be even more successful, and we do not need to let the opportunity pass by us, but the financial support needs to be there, and it is going to have to be there from softball supporters.
