The G5 schools are already making a fraction of what the P4 makes. Reducing OOC games is going to hit their budgets and weaken them. Or force some G6 schools to make hard decisions about how to spread money and maybe cut some sports. The SEC gets no props because they are now just doing what everyone else was already doing, playing a harder OOC schedule. Expect the SEC to start having a lot more losses.

Particularly if the school is a public school and located in a state that allows taxpayers' dollar to fund collegiate athletics in some way. People don't seem thrilled about the idea of the P2s doing their own thing for multiple reasons. If the G6s are forced to cut sports and the cuts drop them below the DI threshold, then it could have the same unintended consequence. Plus, there are certain non-revenue sports that are heavily depended upon the G6s and other non-P2 schools to have enough teams so the sport can qualify as a NCAA sponsored sport. If enough non-revenue sports lose their NCAA status because not enough DI teams sponsor the sport, then what are the implications as it relates to Title IX?
