Michigan State @ USC at 11 p.m. ET
Yet another bright, flashing indicator of how stupid conference realignment is. Terrible for the fans and I'd have to think it's not great for viewership as many MSU fans will likely tune out for such a late game. What are we doing?

that late impact. It’s not like a bowl game where they go out there usually a week early and adjust to the time zone.

that USC brought to their media contract. I have zero sympathy, and if it was my school playing USC, I would not complain, I'd try to attend the game.

All of these schools want the TV money. The networks want live content. This is what everyone was asking for, whether the fans like it or not.

do we penalize the home team's likely desire to play a night game just because the away team is 3 time zones away.

most valuable time zone from a ratings perspective and ratings will likely matter in an uneven pay distribution, it likely won't change the perspective of the East Coast viewer regardless of where the game is actually played.

on viewership is a non starter.
Post season is the distributions the conference need to amend. Let the schools keep 75 - 80% of any post season revenue, and the problem is solved.
A school for the most part does not control which conference they are in, who they can play, or which time zone or slot they get.
They can however, invest the money it takes for a competitive program, so let them reap those rewards.

For the record, I do agree with you that the schools need to receive a larger portion of the revenue. Not sure it will happen those because it is very easy for people to discover that they have a little Gordon Gekko in them.

I was a Pac-12 After Dark guy every week.
That being said, I'm not watching this because I am turned off to the P2 duopoly, not because of the late start here in the ETZ.
