The ACC picked up two P5 schools. Two of the best Universities that this country has to offer. Are they football blue bloods? No, but either University could be if they can dig deep, and become football schools. Are they blue blood basketball schools? No, but they are a coach and 3-4 awesome recruits from competing - they just need the will, and like football, the money to make it happen. Given the circumstances, and the arguments for, or against, these additions to your conference - it is my contention that the ACC has solidified itself as one of the P4 conferences, no matter how many defections the conference may have in the future. It's also my contention that NC is no longer in the drivers' seat as this conference evolves, and that will be a good thing for ACC athletics. FSU? To hell with them, let them flounder in money land - they will only be significant as long as they are in the ACC. They will not be a top program in the BIG or SEC (my opinion). It is my hope that a strong ACC and B12 can stick it to the BIG and SEC right where it hurts, and that is college athletic championships. I don't care which team it is - if a championship comes down to an ACC team, or a SEC or BIG team, I will be the loudest, biggest ACC fan out there (with a PBR in my hand of course). Now that most of this realignment stuff is over for now, it's time to kick some SEC and BIG ass. I've got two years left before I can travel like I want too, but one of the first bucket list stadiums I have on my list will be Blacksburg - so get a F'n team so that ticket will cost me a fortune.
