Four or Five ACC Presidents oppose expansion. That is probably the same way an ACC disolution vote would be tilted in the opposition direction.. Disolution has ony 4 or 5 votes or 1/3 support. That is why it is only ever mentioned on football fan blogs as this. Not close to enough support.

That all of this becomes a lot easier if we decouple football and basketball from all the other sports. We already call them revenue and non-rev sports because it is obvious where the lines are drawn.
We already have precedent for how to it. I learned this earlier today.
FSU beach volleyball was national runners up last year. This is a formal NCAA sport. But FSU plays in the Coastal Collegiate Sports Association (CCSA) since the ACC doesn’t have enough teams for the sport. This conference also includes LSU and South Carolina for beach volleyball.
So it can be done, and is already being done, with non-rev sports decoupled from the main athletic conference. It’s time to split out the non-revs from all of this. And then that makes the football/basketball conference decisions a lot easier. The schools will still fund the non-revs the same.
