Temple is assessing their football program. They may drop the sport.

It means the game that didn't happen, didn't happen

Not surprised at all. It's a commuter school and with Ped State and Pitt
owning the state in football, I would think few would care.

Great move
All ACC and Big 12 schools should do the same.

I don't interpret that response from the school the same way you do.
To me that reads, "all programs are potentially on the chopping block...not just football."

Sure looks like they are affirming it to me.

"No single program is the focus of that review."
I interpret that as, "We are considering all our options." ** Edited by MP4VT2004 at 11/26/2024, 9:11:53 PM

“Temple Football, we want to reiterate our commitment to the program.” I
have no dog in this race, and things could change, but with that statement and football because of TV money generating most if not all the revenue, I think the earlier statement was click bait, but time will tell.

If you dig a bit deeper, the AAC is currently coming up with a "minimum"
investment for their schools athletic programs. They are looking at a floor, but not a cap, on monies committed to athletics. I will find their framework very interesting if and when they come up with a dollar amount that most in the conference agree too. This may be what Temple is evaluating, as it's my guess that they are on the low end on monies spent on their athletic program. They may not be able to commit to monies being talked about, as figures like $20M ++ to pay the athletes based on the recent settlement is what is on the table.
