If I was Amazon, I would do as Amazon does…
…which is not to be second or third tier dealing with scraps & leftovers from a big 10 that has *****d itself with multiple networks… … people see what the big 10 really is and the reaction to the ESPN southern conference grabbing tx and Oklahoma and then the big 10 creating this magical faux fantasy land alliance distracting some & comforting others all the while working the back channels to grab their own cross country conference pick offs… don’t think Amazon didn’t see the same thing and I am not thinking Amazon plays second fiddle to anybody… … I would build and create a power three contender …it would no longer be p2… … I’d let the ACC collectively build their new beyond the ACC conference and I would contribute major big bucks As it develops with guarantees for Amazon…so that the newly created conference would be able to compete head to head from a NIL perspective with the other two greedy conferences down south and up north… … if I’m Amazon I feel a lot safer hanging with ESPN then I do with the hodgepodge putting money into the B1g … ESPN has been bumped from the B1g and they don’t like it …Amazon could be the perfect partner with ESPN to build the beyond the ACC conference into a mega conference that matters… With all of this said let’s just hope that it’s not only schools like Carolina and the tobacco road boys and the illegal statues school in Charlottesville and the crooks from the canes that are working these potential angles and that instead Virginia Tech is front and center because history has proven the Tar Heels could give a rats ass about Virginia tech and recent changes suggest the same for the caniacs… … Amazon has already contributed substantially to at least one ACC member which would happen to be tech… Let’s hope that we’ve got strong leader ship at Tech pushing this or some variation of this angle and not just waiting to see what develops and frankly it wouldn’t hurt to be bringing in our legislators also… … instead of watching the miss named P2 to try to set new standards the real leaders become disruptors and take what others thought they were doing and turn it upside down on them… Then if this new P3 conference wants to use the b1g hodgepodge approach…there is also a small evolving media company with lots of money…lots of cash…a little company called apple. The smart ones in the ACC of today are working this stuff back channel and they’re not telling anyone…yet.

If the eight did break away, I could see something like this happening.
The breakaway eight (or 10, whatever) plus eight or ten more from the best of the P10 and B12 would be a very good coast to coast conference, with only FB first brands (unless Amazon/ESPN really want a few BB first members, like Duke or Kansas). Divide up the TV between ESPN and Amazon. Keep the ACCN and expand it into the new states to more than make up for the lost ones. The breakaway threat makes it possible at least, along with the fact that ESPN/ACCN would then get several new big teams in the mix along with all the ACC teams they care about. Plus ND stays with the new group, I would assume. Including VT because of the Amazon Crystal City partnership does make sense, also Stanford and Washington for other Amazon connections. ** Edited by Truthahn at 10/7/2022, 12:47:18 PM

I hope you don't get in trouble for leaking the plans.
I suspect (can't really know for sure) that Amazon, ESPN, and the other parties involved in these deals have much less personal feelings about it than you seem to have. The reason Amazon is working with The B1G instead of The ACC is because the B1G has media rights available but The ACC does not. It's not because Amazon thinks The B1G is morally deserving of their interest or attention. They're trying to make a contract that is profitable to all concerned. ESPN execs are not resentful or angry with The B1G execs because they failed to get a media deal. I believe that is true because ESPN (from what I read) is still trying to work with The B1G for late night content. The ACC is on the sidelines for now because they played it safe in their media dealings. In hindsight we can see they should have acted differently. Most likely outcome is just a long wait before they get another chance. The ACC is not innocent in the selfish game of realignment. The SEC and The B1G are not more or less corrupt than the guys who carved-up the old Big East. The stakes are higher today, but the crime is exactly the same. I hope The ACC escapes the GoR bonds and gets back in the game. But I'm not optimistic. Meanwhile try to understand that this is all just college sports, entertainment.

🤔nope, can’t agree with some of what you say…
Let’s start with the “crime being exactly the same”…not the case as ACC didn’t create a false and misleading and actually deceitful expectation by other conferences …(problem is I mixed personal thoughts into what is going on…thereby creating confusion for those already solidly in the grasp of what they think is going on, and not able to see or understand alternatives)…you’re just not able to comprehend or understand a disruptive approach in business… because you feel it’s just college sports & entertainment when, it is so much more…in the billions! Don’t kid yourself…regardless of GOR, ESPN is open for business & if the dollars are right, the trail can turn if the disrupters feel it’s worth it. An odd irony that at a time the B1G told notre Domers that they Need to be all in if they want to be in. Yet here they are trying to whittle a deal with PAC teams that will not involve them being all in for all sports. The reason they’re doing this… in their minds… it’s because they need to think out of the box and they’re willing now to be the disruptors. Their destiny of a power football conference will diminish the legacy of college conferences and rivalries for so many other sports. For all our sakes, I’m sure we agree that we hope for the best… Psst-BE was doomed…

What are you talking about when you say they are taking P12
teams, but not for all sports?

The pubs in the know (as in print publications and or online)…
To include speculation of supposed pac 10/12/whatever insiders is that the financial model will not work for cross country full schedule games for all the sports other than football…and they will likely therefore (assuming if the 2,4 or 6) book most of their games outside of the b1g…not making the student athlete for all the non rev sports make ridiculous and disruptive to the student part of their scholies regular trips … This stance Or supposed outcome has Been fairly widely noted. Ok I’m not repeating this again so would like for you to Be the new communicator if this point comes up again on TSL… thanks and that is all. 😎

What should happen is the Pac-10 and MWC should require a school...
...have all of it's sports in their conference. No partial memberships! Let USC and UCLA find conferences for the BB and non-revenue sports. Hope the ACC does the same for all new members after ND joins the B1X.
