Long term upside of VT and the DC market/Amazon partnership should be
Valuable to the SEC. I read lots of articles on the current value of teams w/o focus on the current/committed investments in the school and future ROC. DC market should be a target for the SEC as well.
Give me Athens and Austin over any Big 10 destination any day!

My sons lives in Austin and I visit often for work and to see him. While it had its issues, the City has made improvements in the past few years. A lot more needs to be done for sure. Aside from that, as a destination for games it’s a boat load of fun as there is so much to do - great bar locations, restaurants, and other activities. I was there for the VT softball games this past weekend and had a blast. I never felt unsafe.

To say austin “had its issues” is not realistic…the data, stats & facts speak for themselves.
Glad you felt safe & most do, but violent crimes are WAY up there… but so are all cities that decided to defund cops…
Perhaps if you had 2 daughters there you would have paid closer attention to the stats impacting them.
… had my kids also living in places trending in wrong direction…yet our perception was ok for all of us…
