I think the B12 will want to add the PAC4, if we walk away.

Three new west coast states, including CA, close to several of their schools, too. The B12 doesn't mind being 20 schools. And at this point, they don't mind losing another school or two in seven years. Heck that is why you go to 20. In the meanwhile, why tell everyone you want the PAC4, and have the ACC best you? BY has been saying he doesn't want them for a while, but I think that is all just posturing because he knows it makes more sense for Stanford and Cal to go to the ACC (ND connection, ACCN, academics, etc.). He needs to wait that out. SMU is a different situation. The B12 has too many TX teams anyway, including one in DFW. SMU is also a better fit for the ACC. We want TX in the ACCN, academics, Dallas market, not really very far away, SMU has been separate from the B12 schools for quite a while now already, etc. They make sense for the ACC, even without Stanford and Cal, IMO.

Hmmm, Cal and Stanford are in negotiations concerning money,
Big12 guy 08/27/23 12:04 PM ET
Not surprising. No conference wants Calford or SMU.
WBGV 08/27/23 11:32 AM ET
I don’t think the Big 12 has any interest in Stanford or Cal
Millpoint 08/27/23 10:52 AM ET
Its the other way around for Cal and Stanford.**

Why wouldn’t the Big 12 want a California presence?
corvt2000 08/27/23 12:45 PM ET
I don’t think their politics line up well with most Big 12 states

No more pro rata $, the B12 would be cutting the pie 2 more ways**
