Interesting discussion about an exchange between sports writer David Teel, Whit Babcock, and Carla Williams. Babcock acknowledges that VT and Virginia have been engaged in small group discussions and large group discussions about the GOR. When Teel very cleverly ask Babcock if he and Carla have had discussions with other conferences about the ACC GOR, Babcock refused to answer the question leading to speculations that there have been discussions with other conferences. There would be absolutely no reason to discuss the ACC GOR with other conferences if there wasn’t a feeling that it wouldn’t stop a school from exploring other conference options. Why waste anyone’s time if the grant of rights is really ironclad until 2036? The discussion starts at the Podcast 6 minute mark and goes to about the 11 or 12 minute mark.
