This is about football and football fans. Number 1 Florida State, but does the SEC need another Florida team? Number 2 Clemson, but does the SEC need another South Carolina team? Tied for 3rd Virginia Tech and Miami. Virginia Tech because they went to numerous BCS Bowl games when there was no playoff and it was exclusive, had 8 straight 10 win seasons in the 2000's, have won 4 ACC Football Championships and have packed stadiums for bowl games and away games. Miami because they won so many National Championships and reside in a big city, but their fan following is terrible over the last 15 years. Probably because they have never made an ACC Football Championship game, much less win it.
