Any thoughts about Franklin saying that VT hired him in part to better

Position Virginia Tech in the next round of realignment? I wonder if he knows something… I have no link to the interview, but it was apparently in reference to signing Day on ESPN. I read about it secondhand on the Sabre. I am of the opinion that the next round of realignment is less likely to be expansion, rather contraction. Unless the Big Ten is able to poach UNC or FSU, consolation prizes to Miami and Clemson, they’re unlikely to move. I think the SEC is only likely to move on UNC. Otherwise everyone is sitting on thumbs until the ACC GOR implodes. Programs like Syracuse, Boston College, Vandy (despite recency bias), Buttgers, Purdue, or Mississippi State likely add very little to power- and quasi-power conferences in the new media landscape. Further, none is investing into their programs sufficiently to make success sustainable. Decades of business consulting dogma tells these suits and their consultants that it’s easier to increase profits by cutting the dead weight than it is to grow the pie…
