Crazy question, should the NFL just take over tier 1 of College 🏈? Drafts,

Salary caps, Rookie salary caps, Roster limits with practice teams. However have an entity that can force Academic standards, limits on eligibility years etc. They already have many of the rules needed to handle the challenges. The NFL seems to have the gravitas to be able to get things done, since most of these players in tier 1, that’s their number one goal, but don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. So many have gone on to get degrees and have a better life because of the educational part. I mean with pay for play and NIL, why not just let the NFL take over tier one of college football? Could we be trying to fit all athletes into a system that is not built for the overwhelming majority of athletes? PS Let the lower tiers do the more traditional model, without pay for play and NIL, sit out a year to transfer etc. It was really good for 100+ years, and many of these athletes just want to play their sport in College and get an education (the athletes graduation rate overall is 90% in six years). It seems like we are penalizing the majority, that would be better under the old system of rules. What do you think? Please keep your answers short and with paragraph breaks or even better, with bullet points. Signed NFL representative 🀣 ** Edited by Stech at 5/20/2025, 8:57:22 AM

I'm surprised we haven't already had a real NFL minor league.

Colleges should force the NFL to form a minor league. **

right, the NFL has a free minor league system now and they love it**
MrBayAreaHokie β€’ 05/20/25 12:35 PM ET
That would end if most colleges dropped football.
VPI 1924 β€’ 05/20/25 06:35 PM ET
Right. Colleges are going to drop football to spite the NFL. Sure. πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„**

The ill will for CFB is building though, that’s not good for the NFL. **

Well that discussion is definitely out there right now.**

that would be nothing but an expense to the NFL. They aren't doing that.**
