Big12 to merge and create east and west divisions. 16 teams in each. Negotiate WVU, UCF, and Cincy to the east and SMU, Stanford, and Cal to the west division. Olympic sports benefit from much better travel. Football plays 8 games in your division, 2 or 4 games games cross division. Strengthens both current conferences and would preserve the viability of both. ND can join if they want. I would create 4 team pods in each division for scheduling flexibility and preserve natural rivalries. Fight fire with fire.
