In the past, a loss like Vt had, or even a Clemson (but
less so), would have eliminated any chance of competing for a National Championship. Today, a conference championship is all that matters, as depth and maturity makes a team much different at the end of the season than from the biggening.
FSU is all but eliminated from getting into the conference championship with two losses.
From where I'm sitting, with no dog in the hunt, the conference championship game is wide open for the taking.
VT's schedule with a win against either Miami or Clemson puts them right there. While BC and GT can no longer be considered automatics, if VT takes care of business against conference foes, they are right there to play into the playoffs.
The at large all but slipped away, but really, how many times has the ACC, old PAC, or the B12 have ever received an at large?
Just a note: FSU has one of the best defensive lines on paper, that money can buy. What a complete waste of money. I hope our respective teams come out of this as being a lot smarter with their NIL money than FSU.

Would be surprised if the 7 at-large bids don't go ND and the P2.
