by something new and interesting? GA/Mich did not deliver substantially better relative numbers in the semis so I am not sure it can be asserted that they would have been that new draw in the final. The only thing new and interesting is if USC-W or UCLA get relevant again and can deliver LA and the western US. After looking at the numbers currently out, I think there is some Alabama and SEC fatigue but, the declining numbers appear much more about the competitive disparity in the sport and exploding options outside linear networks. Relatively speaking, despite the declining numbers live sports, in general, and the NFL in particular, are still the most heavily watched TV programming which suggests all linear TV programming is declining due to other options not as easily measured.

Weeknight title game is a terrible idea.
Maroon Baboon 01/11/22 09:24 PM ET
Why start the game at 8:00 pm, on a week night?
EDGEMAN 01/12/22 07:45 AM ET
8:30 or even 9:00 on a Friday night would work out for both coasts.
Maroon Baboon 01/12/22 10:37 AM ET
Friday night is a no go because the networks don't want to impact

ND/SEC are short sighted, like NASCAR, there creating a Regional Sport,
