Question? If the Big 10 and SEC break away from the NCAA....

is it only for football or all sports? The NCAA Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament seem to be stable and run properly. How would the Big 10 and SEC leaving the NCAA effect the smaller in-state schools like UAB, South Alabama, MTSU, Southern Miss, Arkansas State, LA Tech,... and the Mid-American Conference schools? It seems like state legislatures in the Big 10 and SEC states would have an issue with the smaller universiites being left behind or financiallt weakened. Would the NCAA even acknowledge the P-2 schools? Sure, the P-2 would be making even more money by starting their own college athletics association, but it would be financially devastating to the non-Power 2 schools, especialy the G-5 and FCS schools. The P-2 going their own way wwould hurt March Madness. Plus, who wants to watch just 32 to 48 schools play for all the championships when there are 300 to 320 D-1 schools being left out? I guess ESPN and Fox feel that nobody cares about or follows the other 300+ schools? ** Edited by Old Line Hokie at 3/12/2024, 3:26:15 PM

Breaking away is a bluff to get the playoff money for themselves. No

Maybe the ACC/Big 12 will revenue share with the G5 to create equality.
