If FSU gets shut out after running the table in the ACC by a one loss SEC team, then that will add fuel to the fire of them wanting to jump ship for one of the P2 conferences. Never mind their performance with a backup QB. Never mind that the road to the CFP in either one of those conferences would be hard to predict and the grass isn’t always greener. Ask the Aggies. Ask Nebraska. The other thing, of course, is if FSU’s brand is reestablished, then that makes them more palatable to the SEC. Bottom line is the rest of the ACC needs to improve to make this a nonissue. Thankfully an expanded playoff should also help avoid getting shutout again, should that happen.
