I've always wanted to know this, but never found out myself and never asked the board, but here goes: Back in 2003 when the ACC announced that it was inviting Miami, Syracuse and BC when we appeared to be left behind until in-state politics came into play, DID WE DO ANYTHING AT THAT POINT TO CONTACT THE SEC TO SEE IF THEY WOULD INVITE US? I thought that WVU (also left out) and VT would have been a great tandem for the SEC at that point in history (or even now). But I was wonder in Weaver or Steger made any attempt to contact the SEC, or (less likely), did the SEC reach out to VT? I was openly hoping that we would have gone to the SEC at that time. I've always liked the SEC and thought it would have been a better fit than the ACC. I also didn't mind life in the Big East either. But if it was all going to go down, I was hoping to land in the SEC. Anyway, I was always curious about this behind the scene stuff in 2003, even though I realized it's all water under the bridge now. TIA for your input.
