They, like any school in the ACC, will have to pay the

exit fee, and any corresponding GOR fee. It's my guess that those details are laid out in the ND ACC contract. Maybe someone here has access to those details, but there are no guarantees for the ACC except that they would be compensated in some way. I think you are probably right about 2036, and I do not think ND will join a conference. If, however, the ACC faulters in 2030, it could make financial sense for ND to go full independent in football, and look at the Big East for their other sports.
