They could do it, but they joined the SEC because they were better off

there, than being independent. Even Army and Navy aren’t independent anymore. Right now if I am Notre Dame with the advantages they have got over the P2 and the entire P4, they have no reason to want anything else. The question is are Sankey and Pettiti going to let them keep getting away with it, they are the only ones with power to balance it out more. I said when the rules came out for the 12 team playoff (not sure if you were posting here then) that Notre Dame completely outmaneuvered all the other conferences. I said, it and got banged on it so hard, I left posting on the board for about a month. The other person that got tremendous criticism was Jack Swarbrick, especially from some Notre Dame Alums and fans (not TerryD and Domer, we may disagree on some things, but they are smart guys), saying he would never get a bye in the playoff. I said it then, and I say it now, it was a brilliant move by him. They get the bye by not having to play in a Conference Championship game, they will get a home game almost always, if not always because of their ratings. Then there is ~20 million versus ~1 million for winning the National Championship, never having to play in a Conference Championship. Absolutely brilliant!!

Why would the ACC want 3 FL schools? Given how valuable the state of FL is
VTHokie2000 01/15/25 02:31 PM ET
We would be trading Texas and California for Ohio and West Virginia WRT

There could be a few others that could do it as well, but not many. **

Texas had their own channel to follow Notre Dame, but it failed, ND is it,

The network failed, but their media value did not. **
